Daily Duties at Sub Surface Waste Management:
Registered Professional Geologist in South Carolina environmental geologist. Served as the Senior Project Manager for the assessment and remediation of Hazardous Waste Sites which involved soil and groundwater contamination. Served as Project Manager for the research and locating Hazardous Waste projects that would be viable to soil/vapor extraction technology. Responsibilities included reaching projected that were advertised within the South Carolina Business Opportunities (SCBO) website. Responsibilities included a project file review at the State Records Department, a site visit to collect field data, pictures and data relative for a competitive bid. I was then representative for the company when the sealed bids were opened. Projects included Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), leaking under-ground storage tank (LUST), above-ground storage tank (AST) projects. Prepared cost proposals & payment requests ranging in cost between $30,000 and to over $1,000,000. Monitored and tracked project cost expenditures and labor hours. Performed technical writing of reports maps and figures for on-time submission to State and Federal agencies. Organized weekly, monthly and quarterly work plans and schedules. Monitored working condition of field test equipment and quantities of necessary field expendables. Developed Corrective Action Plans (CAP). Developed permitting requests. Helped to design, install, inspect, and maintain remediation systems worth between $270,000 and $500,000. Collected air, soil, groundwater and stream samples. Performed aquifer testing and pilot testing. Performed on-call Emergency Response. Provided technical advice via phone for prospective clients would call. Worked as a team member Approximately 50% of my job required travel and overnight stay. Technical writing included the use of software such as Microsoft Office Word, Excel, DesignCad, Surfer, Paint Pro, and Google Earth.
