Daily Duties at Cleveland State University:
• Principal aide to the President of the University during his initial appointment period, overseeing all operations of the Office of the President including management of staff, budgets, administration, policies, and procedures. Provided coordination and oversight in the development of initiatives for the Office of the President and served as the President's primary strategic liaison with University and community constituencies. • Assistant Dean – College of Urban Affairs: Chief operating/administrative officer for an up to $10 million, 100 person operation. Oversight of seven major administrative areas including all fiscal and budget affairs, human resources management, college-wide technology and distance education, facilities and new building construction management, inter and intra-organization communications, program development, and special projects. Chaired committees on technology, strategic planning, student services, employee searches. • Director of The Urban Center a $2.5 million annually grant and contract funded applied research, technical assistance and public service unit of the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs. • Director of the Center for Nonprofit Policy & Practice which provides scholarly research, technical assistance and community services to local and regional faith-based, grassroots and mid-sized nonprofit organizations. Established an expertise for community based projects related to organization and program effectiveness, evaluation, and assessment. 3 to 5 independent nonprofit technical assistance projects annually with over 40 funded projects totaling in excess of $1.5 million in operational and program grants and contracts.
