GENERAL MANAGER, SE REGION - BASED IN TAMPA, FL 2007 to 2010 P&L responsibility for seven locations with 350 employees producing annual revenue of $48M Increased EBITDA percentage on $48M annual revenue from 30% to 50+%: • Generated new business and increased sales to existing customers • Increased bulk throughput rates for vessels by 50%, for rail cars by 75%, and for trucks by 25% • Reduced labor expense by 20% by modifying shift structures and eliminating on-call • Decreased lost time injuries from 7 to 0 per year by enforcing occupational health and safety compliance Increased operational efficiencies: • Improved employee morale by introducing a participative management program, formal pay progression program, open door policy, town hall meetings, and employee safety committee • Created the region’s first operating procedures manual for every piece of mobile and stationary equipment • Enhanced equipment availability and reliability by establishing a preventive maintenance program and critical parts inventory • Eliminated multiple bottlenecks in product transfer systems DIRECTOR, OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE - HOUSTON, TX 2006 to 2007 Developed and directed continuous improvement initiatives for 174 terminals that resulted in dramatic increases in revenue: • Prepared facilities for internal, regulatory, and customer audits • Spearheaded the effort to obtain Responsible Care Certification granted by the American Chemistry Council • Initiated and completed the Environment, Health and Safety Management System that also met requirements of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 DIRECTOR, ENVIRONMENT, HEALTH AND SAFETY (EHS) - HOUSTON, TX 154 Bulk & Liquids Terminals, 2001 to 2006 ACTING CORPORATE SECURITY DIRECTOR 1500 Locations, 2002 to 2003 Directed strategic planning and execution of EHS, Industrial Hygiene, Security, and Risk Management programs for 9 regions comprising 154 bulk and liquids terminals: • Led effort that secured $6.5M in multiple federal grants for security improvement projects at 30 terminals • Member of due diligence team that performed on-site evaluations of target acquisitions as the company grew from 5 to 154 terminals • Created EHS compliance policies and procedures for each of the 154 terminals • Established annual training program for 8,500 employees, which included a computer-based training management system • Constructed the corporate Facility Security Plan for all business units; plan included templates for Facility Security Assessments, individual Facility Security Plans, and training modules
