Daily Duties at Department Of Corrections:
Responsibilities California Rehabilitation Center for Inmate Peer Education Program (IPEP) Program The social worker develops organizes, implements and manages two Inmate Peer Education Programs one for male felons unit and the other for female felons unit. The inmate peer education program has inmate peer educators teach their peers on infectious diseases- HIV, TB, Hepatitis A, B, C. The social worker is responsible for assisting with training of inmates as peer educators. The social worker organizes a graduation ceremony for inmates who became peer counselors twice a year. Social worker hires inmates as secretary and keeps statistics on program. The social worker organizes yearly health fairs for male and female units, publishes monthly news letters for Inmate Peer Education Programs.
