• Supervised staff in activities supporting QC testing ensuring quality of Amgen drug product • Managed, planned and directed quality control program designed to ensure continuous production/service consistent with established standards • Interacted with EMEA, FDA, Health Canada and other agencies during various inspections. Provided successful lab tours to inspectors and answered direct questions • Assigned staff responsibility for activities best suited to their strengths resulting in an engaged team • Recruited, hired, trained staff, evaluated employee performance, and recommended promotions • Coordinated “Lean” initiatives within lab: increased lab capacity, improved testing cycle times, increased first pass quality, decreased non-conformances, reduced inventory, consolidated lab space and decreased staff requirements • Participated in developing and validating the assays required for in-process control of the manufacturing process and release of drug product • Supervised automation of bioassays and immunoassays utilizing robotics, resulting in increased productivity and efficiency levels • Supported technical team remediating several methods, improving assay robustness decreasing invalid rates. Proven track record of excellent trouble-shooting and problem solving abilities
