Translates engineering designs into Manufacturing Bills of Material. Analyzes engineering specifications to specify in-house manufacturing, outsourcing, or Consumer-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) procurement. Works closely with supply chain management and Quality Control to ensure delivery of hardware for integration that is in compliance with all engineering specifications. Provides specifications and detailed schematics for hardware subsystems and interconnects. Provides specific detailed information for hardware and COTS software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements. Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as servers, routers, computer rooms, wiring diagrams, etc. Evaluates and reports on new hardware technologies to enhance capabilities of the system. Coordinates the specification and acquisition of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE). Maintains accountability of all Work-In-Progress (WIP) materials and software according to applicable Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR). Creates Work Orders for shop-floor integration of hardware and software. Specifies shop-floor processes and work order routings.
