Daily Duties at Cna Surety Company:
Hired to lead the implementation of a system modernization initiative that included a restructuring of the Software Engineering staff and processes. Oversaw $15 million 5 year capital investment and $4 million annual expense budget. Oversaw all aspects of the Solution Delivery Life Cycle including Project Management, Application and Data Architecture, Application and Business Intelligence Development, Testing and Technical Writing. Recruited and managed 110 staff including 75 consultants located in our 2 main offices with 50 development consultants working offshore. Oversaw overall program of projects for the system modernization initiative. Recruited new staff and retrained the existing mainframe skilled staff to work in the new web based development environment. Prepared and presented weekly updates to key stakeholders and monthly reports to the Executives concerning all projects. Oversaw the annual budgeting a process by establishing a forecast for resources required to meet the project and support demand from the business priorities. Served as the Sarbanes-Oxley and annual audit leader for all application development and support controls.
