Daily Duties at Mci Telecommunications Corporation:
• Wrote client/server programs – all were using CICS, Sybase, and some ADABAS calls. All were mainframe based (servers) • Interfaced with several systems and passed project information to the accounting system in their LAN, which allowed up-to-date information for project tracking and accounting of assets. Gathering data could now be done in a matter of hours instead of months • Changed current Asset Management System from ADABAS processing to DB2 • Wrote several CICS programs to access new DB2 tables • Worked with team that converted MCI Property Insurance System (PIRS) to Unison (SAP) input formats • Made PIRS System Year 2000 compliant • Wrote programs that read VSAM, DB2, & flat files to extract historical data to be downloaded to midrange Oracle Database
