Developed and published new methods for both automatic and semi-automatic segmentation of subcellular structures addressing the need for more accurate and robust techniques to delineate structures in serial blockface scanning electron microscopic data. This technology will reduce the cost of analysis of massive data which was previously accomplished manually. Coordinated multidisciplinary team of team of 8 people from the Scientific Computing and Imaging Institute at Utah University and National Center for Microscopy and Imaging Research (NCMIR) to develop advancing image analysis software.
