Daily Duties at Capital Enterprises Inc:

Managed an area of 7 restaurants over 2 states and 140 miles. Required to conduct audits for financial controls operational excellence product roll outs management development management coaching training and termination. Had to ensure compliance to all local state and federal regulations in regards to all labor laws as well as liquor laws. Asked to with specific restaurant managers within my district and others to develope them into future district manager candidates. Had to manage outside vendors for maintenance of the building and equipment. On a daily basis I visited restaurants to ensure product and service guidelines were met. This would be a mix of announced and unannounced visits. I would visit each location at least once a week and when there was issues I would visit the store twice plus spend one of the highest revenue periods to follow up on any issues or opportunities. Each month I would conduct audits of all inventory to ensure we had proper accounting of food. Each month I would conduct a cash audit of each location to ensure proper cash handling was being followed Each month i would conduct a personal audit to ensure that the on boarding process was being followed and that all required state and federal forms were properly completed. I would work with the Vice President in any HR issue that needed investigating including preparing for unemployment process. In the 10 years as a district manager I only had two unemployment cases go against the company one of which was appealed and reversed. I was responsible for ensuring we had full management teams with significant back fill since the locations were often 50 miles from each other which made making transfers diffucult. I conducted all of the training classes and set up follow up for management for the region which consisted of 8 districts. During my time as a district manager we opened many locations throughout Maine and Vermont I was one of the three people who would go in when the initial equipement and shelving would arrive and would ensure it was assembled and properly placed to ensure we met the opening date. After the stores would open I was on site for the first two weeks to serve as an extra hand to ensure that things were getting done, typically when we opened a store in Vermont or Maine it was a big deal for the town and the opening week was the busiest week the store would ever have.

You give high priority to hiring firms with prestige. Market reputation and prestige of a firm may be determined through on-line research, and conversations with individuals working in your target industry.
