Daily Duties at Ltv Steel, Usx:
Started my career after 1970 as an hourly mechanic helper blast furnace department YS&T then progressed to Maintenance mechanic with in 3.5 yrs promoted into operations manager as hi line supervisor, stockhouse supervisor, casthouse supervisor, then in 1975 transferred to Iron Foundry operating manager, after 4 yrs in foundry operations promoted to asst general mgr of Maintenance took various courses i.e. Hydraulic classes, TPM trained training Keith Stevens antalicle trouble shooting as to why various machine failures Wrote Preventive maintenance procedures and tasks. In 1988 when the iron foundry ceased operations due to Continuous caster came on line and pollution got stricter. Transferred to # 2 CRSM Cold Rolled Sheet Mill, Galvanizing Mill Ran a shift manager with after a year of direct Maintenance both Mechanical and Electrical personal, Company streamed line management to an Operating and Maintenance supervisor rolled into one person. Ran 2 galvanizing lines both operating and mechanical turn operations. In 1990 was asked to go to the Tin Division to work as a maintenance planner and scheduler. after 2 yrs promoted to a project developer for a new sub Dept under Tin Operations to design build and oversee entire project then to get it operational.
