Daily Duties at Hj Heinz:

Manage entire accounting department -Set up new procedures for the different functions within the department -Worked closely with Corporate on several different costing projects -Implemented a structured time card monitoring system that has saved thousands of dollars in late out punches and early in punches that were not authorized -Prepare yearly budget and quarterly forecasts for Muscatine IA and Fairlawn NJ plants o Budget and Forecast are based on volume which is provided from Corporate o Use various spreadsheets in order to get spend (variable) aligned with volume -Work closely with department managers to ensure spend is in line with budget/forecast -Manage payroll and accounts payable -Fixed Asset maintenance -Account reconciliations and monthly and year end journal entries -Prepare and provide Management with assorted weekly reports -Cost variance explanations, including packaging, ingredients and labor -Sarbanes Oxley compliance, including testing -Costing of new products -Involved in several process improvement events, 6s, FI and line observations -Six Sigma Certified internal trainer, responsible for training all hourly employees
