Daily Duties at Caribbean University :

•Serve as chief administrative officer in the absence of the University President •Enhance student recruitment, retention, and diversity •Ensure the Institution programs support, promote, and enhance University’s mission •Promote the voice of student’s affairs by contributing to the social and intellectual development of their body, and promoting opportunities to experience leadership •Create and revise University’s policies and procedures related to student’s affairs •Commitment to student engagement and a transformative learning environment •Review student evaluations and other evidence of effectiveness with the academic staff •Oversight of student organizations and committees, alcohol education efforts, student orientation, multicultural programming, student associations, and some student scholarships •Provide services, programs and resources that assist our students in their academic, professional and personal growth •Serves as chair of the Student Life and Social Activities Committee •Supervising the organization of social activities as well as supervising the publicity of Senate activities. •Strategic planning development and budgeting •Supervise personnel from the Admission, Registrar, Bursar, Financial Aid, Counseling and Orientation, Athletic Department, Placement, and other student services departments. •Fundraising for Dr. Angel Juan Foundation •Perform other duties that are specified in the bylaws of the organization •Work closely with the President, Human Resources Director and all academic departments related •Supervise and provide leadership to faculty and Academic Deans for administrative, teaching and academics processes •Development and implementation of academic strategic planning •Responsible for Academic departments, counseling services, assessment for Institutional effectiveness •Oversee faculty, administrative and academic personnel recruitment and development activities

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
