Daily Duties at Mohawk Industries:
As Director and later Sr. Director my duties included directing the acquisition, development, and continual improvement of transportation systems, technology, and processes; responsible for a transportation budget of more than $300 million annually, covering all modes of transportation; directs mode selection and optimization of all inbound and outbound transportation for Mohawk Industries, Inc.; directs the design, configuration, and procurement of all North American transportation equipment; directs the activities of the Transportation Managers to continually improve Regional Delivery performance; responsible for all transportation back office functions, including freight bill audit and carrier underwriting; set up measurements and manages KPI's for continuous improvements throughout North American Logistics which allowed efficient cost as well as rewarding achievement; fosters an environment that promotes trust, teamwork, integrity and allows the appropriate risk taking; integrates processes that support consistent change management throughout North America supply chain; performs strategic planning to ensure appropriate transportation processes are in place to support real time visibility and to optimize field equipment as well as equipment configuration which ensures more efficient, customer friendly delivery; ensures transportation technology is in place in order to optimize a multi divisional transportation solution for the North American Logistics mission and vision; and accountable for other duties as required , assigned or necessary to further the goals of the department.
