Daily Duties at R I Blood Center:

Had Extensive training on machines to learn platelet donation. Voluntary donors were on the machines anywhere from 3 -5 hours. I found it to be the most procedure I had ever endeavored. It took a good six months of one on one training till I felt comfortable. I did exceed at IV access, which made me feel good. montor, do iv stick to set them up on machine, draw blood to see if donation made sense, log, patients could go into seizures or passed out. observation critical.
