Daily Duties at U.S.Naval National Medical Center:
A Registered professional nurse who provides patient care, including scrubbing and circulating operative procedures, training, orienting, and evaluating personnel; maintaining aseptic technique and a safe environment, and assisting with administrative duties as required. Provide comprehensive nursing care in compliance with standards of nursing practice. *Consistently monitors patients' status, recognizes potential hazards, and takes steps to prevent untoward events. •Consistently utilizes and demonstiates competency in the nursing process, patient observation, interview, and physical and psychological assessment skills, to develop the perioperative nursing care plan. Continuously reassesses all components of patient care. •Ensures that supplies, institiments, and equipment requirements are met for each case according to doctor's preference, considering age, physical condition of patient, and surgical procedure. •Documents patient care on the perioperative nursing note and communicates this information to other healthcare team members.
