Daily Duties at Kindred Ontario Hospital:

Directs and coordinates functions and activities of the Nursing Department as well as all Clinical Departments; Pharmacy, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Wound Care, Dietary Services, Infection Control, Employee Health, Performance Improvement, Hospital Education, and Laboratory Services. Reports directly to and consults with the Chief Executive Officer on the general operation of the hospital.Organizes nursing and clinical departments according to administrative and nursing guidelines; ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, organizational, and medical staff standards. Has authority and responsibility for establishing, directing, and implementing the Standards of Care, as well as the financial planning and accountability for all nursing and other clinical departments. Develops and implements the appropriate initiatives outlined in the Hospital's Strategic Quality Plan. Serves on the Quality Council, and has 100% resonsibility for all CMS mandated Core Measures, as well as department specific quality plans including compliance with the desired outcomes. Is assigned the role of Patient Safety Officer and maintains patient safety through on-going education, and compliance with all of the National Patient Safety Goals. Assures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements. Maintains survey readiness at all times. Participates in and coordinates survey preparation. Develops implements, and monitors corrective action plans as needed. Develops and implements all clinical policies and procedures. Develops, implements, and improves the care delivery model by assessing quality and efficiency and leading appropriate change that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
