Daily Duties at Gap, Incorporated:

This position is unique to the Gap, Incorporated in that no other Real Estate department has such a large financial reporting responsibility. This department includes Rent, Occupancy and Depreciation (ROD) costs as well as Other Income. These costs post directly against earnings and have a direct impact on shareholder stock value. • Manage and lead a team to support the Brands in generating the annual budget for Rent, Occupancy, Depreciation (ROD) and Other Income accounts. • Responsible for ensuring GAAP and SOX compliance for all Key Controls through accounting entries entered by Lease Accounting, Project Accounting, Fixed Assets, Occupancy Accounting, Strategic Sourcing and Accounts Payable as they relate to Rent, Occupancy, Depreciation and Other Income accounts. • Responsible for the performance development of team consisting of Senior Financial Analyst and Staff Analyst levels. • Oversee the development of forecasting models and preparation of the forecast for ROD on a monthly and quarterly basis, communicate forecast to the Brands. • Present to the brand management accounting issues affecting ROD forecasts, communicate future impact to the Brands in a clear and concise manner. • Responsible for the delivery of monthly forecast and actual cost reporting to Gap, Inc. CFO and CEO. • Responsible for driving cost saving initiatives. Examples: adjusting future lease language, occupancy contractual recommendations, providing guidance on store construction actions, etc. • Responsible for determining cost impact from opening new locations, remodeling stores, impact of reducing sales square foot, relocating store locations, etc and providing Brand Finance and Real Estate departments with profit & loss impact for making the store action decisions and maintain operating budget. • Responsible for all ad hoc financial reporting requests specific to the Brands as this department is the only department that can review all expenditure items posting to the individual Brand accounts. • Responsible for all department initiatives, strategic initiatives and mentoring staff.
