Daily Duties at Best Buy:
I was moved from the Boston DM position to the 2nd largest Market in the United States in Northern New Jersey based on the improved profitability and cost controls implemented. In New Jersey I was responsible for 11 locations, 2200 employees and over 700 million in annual revenue. Develop a performance management rhythm to include regular meetings, conference calls and store visits. Communicate company directives, reinforce policies and procedures. Monitor performance and provide feedback or recognition based on exceptional performance. Direct district staff on opportunities in areas of expertise. (i.e. merchandising, inventory/ product flow, customer service/back office, sales ). Ensure attainment of budgeted results by providing leadership to store management teams to drive sales and maximize margins. Monitor stores controllable expenses to budget and take corrective action where necessary. Ensure store meet or exceed shrink results and monitor compliance with policies and procedures. Coach store leadership on effective team building, employee engagement and customer loyalty strategies. Build effective relationships throughout the organization from line level to corporate partners. Support partners across the territory by sharing experiences ( best practices and learnings ), engaging in market programs. Full P&L accountability for locations with in the district. Support store team by assisting in decision making process. Provide Leadership development for District staff and store leadership teams. create a talent pipeline to ensure future leaders for the organization. Understand and assist direct reports in the achievement of both personal and professional goals.
