Daily Duties at Uci Student Health Center:

Clinical Nurse II-Health educator and Patient Advocate--Present a positive image of student health by being a patient advocate and having excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; Organized, detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment; Self motivated and require minimum supervision in performing responsibilities; Able to work with culturally diverse populations; Knowledge of health promotion and disease prevention principles; Ability to conduct patient education based on patient education teaching principles; Provide clinical supervision of other nursing professionals and paraprofessionals; Respond immediately to change in patient’s status based on recognition of signs and symptoms; Possess ability to make decisions necessary to deal effectively and efficiently with solving problems; Ensure that the health status of all patients presented without appointments are assessed upon arrival and designates the appropriate plan of action; Participate in a collaborative effort with nursing staff and medical care provider staff in order to exceed patient expectations; Monitor patient waiting times and intervenes in order to maintain flow
