Pinal County Government Work Values

Daily Duties at Pinal County Government:

Hired on a part-time basis (20 hrs/week) to assist Human Resources in the reclassifcation, recoding, changing pay scales, and rewriting job descriptions for all County employee positions. I previously completed an externship for my MPA program under the supervision of the Assistant County Administrator. He recommended I assist on this project, having experienced my work during the externship. I was one of 3 staff members working on this project. I worked from home since I lived one hour away. I communicated with the Project Leader via phone and email, as necessary. The Project Leader provided the necessary data, which were dispersed in multiple methods (EXCEL sheet she created w/new job categories and new job titles); County's pay scale and job #s; employee surveys (multiple surveys for employees doing the same job -- ex: IT; custodian); and, standard language that had to be included in each job description for legal purposes. A portion of this reclassification process was previously completed by an outside agency; the County was not pleased with their work; funds ran out; and, project put on hold for several years. Project resumed in 2012 under new HR leadership.
