Oro Valley Town Hall Work Values

Daily Duties at Oro Valley Town Hall :

I was assigned as a Management Intern to fulfill a 400 hr requirement for my MPA program. The job description was somewhat 'open ended,' allowing me to select opportunities in which to take part, yet some projects were assigned. My supervision came from the Assistant Town Manager. Aside from participating and completing various assigned projects, I attended the ACMA meeting and began networking. I continued to network during my internship from the office and began getting involved in professional organizations and committees. I was informed by my supervisor and the internship coordinator that I was the most aggressive/assertive intern they had ever seen == they were impressed with the contacts I made and the committees I was able to obtain membership on. With regard to the projects, I worked with HR on a new software system they were implementing. I also worked independently conducting research for HR and the Ass't Town Manager on matters related to whether Oro Valley was competitive with similar localities. I also met with the Ass't Town Manager on a weekly basis to review my progress; discuss my future plans; and, discuss my findings related to the research portion of my project as it related to other localities.
