Daily Duties at Nyc/ Human Resources Administration:

• Represent Family Independent Administration at New York State Administrative Hearings, on Cash Assistance (CA) cases and Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Programs (SNAP) issues and review Fair Hearing decisions. Audit and review legal decisions to implement corrective action plans. • Examine approximately 250 legal cases weekly prior to representation before New York State Judicial Hearing to determine whether correct actions were taken on adverse notices from various HRA operational sites. Ensure the need for resolution and/ or, whether HRA needs to defend their actions against welfare appellants. AJOS II (Manager/Administrator) - Grant Program at Intensive Service Center 2008- April 2010 • Collaborated with divisional directors of employment unit at the above center and ensured the clienteles were serviced with the appropriate level of Cash Assistance (CA), Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Programs (SNAP), and Supportive Services (SS), that were in accordance with federal, state, and local social service procedures & policies cited under Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Safety Net Assistance (SNA). Ensured recipients were referred to the appropriate vendors and outstation that were affiliated under HRA contracts. • Monitored sanctioned clienteles who participated in a ten day Back-To-Work compliance workshop/program as part of the employment process in order to have their infractions removed and resolved any mitigating barriers that prevented them from becoming employment ready or engagement ready. • Analyzed comprehensive data from various operational work-lists in order to complete statistical reports that were used to benefit operational practice and employment program. Utilized best practices data to mirror our operations. • Conducted supervisory training on the Grant Program Administrative Procedures & Policies and motivated staff on how to better serve the sanctioned population. • Monitored client complaints from various offices which included political offices and organizations to ensure the timeliness of response and resolution, and examined processes to prevent future complaints. • Oversaw various HRA employment and supervisory work lists to ensure the center progressed effectively and efficiently within the time allowed. • Recommended strategies to reduce clientele service area to avoid crowd control in the midst of recertification period and maneuver staff in order to cover respective areas, to satisfy customer service response. AJOS I (Supervisor) - Fair Hearing Tracking Monitoring & Review Unit 2002 - 2007 • Distributed daily Aid-to Continue cases to the staff members, who reviewed and ensured that the agency act within 24 to 48 hours, until an Administrative Judge hears the appellant’s issue. • Reviewed daily fair hearing decisions prior to staff distribution to respective operational job sites and food stamps sites. Participated in program evaluation and analyzed NYC welfare decisions to determine full compliance with State Procedures. • Ensured daily State FH029 Report were converted into Excel Program and distributed to the Director of FHTMRU, Office Managers, Regional Compliance Supervisors and Compliance Clerks to process. • Consulted on problematic cases involving internal & external legal issues and current pending lawsuits with various job center staff members. • Communicated daily with other HRA operational sites representatives, community boards officials, elected officials and the public with regards to outstanding fair hearing decisions and Aid- to- Continue cases. • Investigated inaccuracies reported from outside agency and non-profit agency. Coordinated project meeting and audit various pilot projects. • Completed weekly and monthly fair hearing compliance progress reports indicating the weekly and monthly numbers of decisions that were distributed to each Job Center Site and Food Stamp Site.
