Daily Duties at City Of Elkhart:

 Manage programs & organizational units/components.  Supervise subordinate supervisors.  Make decisions within program parameters.  Interpret and implement policies and program requirements.  Serve as a resource to others regarding programmatic issues.  Oversee training programs, compiles reports for agency and external use.  Hire, train & supervise all Center Employees.  Support long-range program plan and development; monitor program performance and service delivery; interpret, develop, analyze, and recommend policies and procedures; provide consultative services; conduct studies and research; monitor and analyze legislation; coordinate resources; and supervise program and administrative staff ensures quality control of programs. Assess recreational needs of the community, prepare, & submit proposals to organizations & individuals to ensure program implementation and success.  Evaluate ongoing programs and operations for quality and efficiency.  Instruct & assist individuals with GED placement & exam preparations.  Develop alternate funding sources & sponsorships to assist with the Centers programming costs.  Act as liaison between the Tolson Center & other community service organizations.  Submit monthly & annual reports, including budget reports, departmental accomplishments, & fiscal reports.  Promote recreation programs & activities among the public via speeches, news releases, PSA.  Complete Federal-funding contracts & ensure full compliance, via training, review and monthly audited reports.  Coordinate resources with other City Dept, Police/Fire, Street, Buildings and Grounds
