Daily Duties at City Of Elkhart:
Manage programs & organizational units/components. Supervise subordinate supervisors. Make decisions within program parameters. Interpret and implement policies and program requirements. Serve as a resource to others regarding programmatic issues. Oversee training programs, compiles reports for agency and external use. Hire, train & supervise all Center Employees. Support long-range program plan and development; monitor program performance and service delivery; interpret, develop, analyze, and recommend policies and procedures; provide consultative services; conduct studies and research; monitor and analyze legislation; coordinate resources; and supervise program and administrative staff ensures quality control of programs. Assess recreational needs of the community, prepare, & submit proposals to organizations & individuals to ensure program implementation and success. Evaluate ongoing programs and operations for quality and efficiency. Instruct & assist individuals with GED placement & exam preparations. Develop alternate funding sources & sponsorships to assist with the Centers programming costs. Act as liaison between the Tolson Center & other community service organizations. Submit monthly & annual reports, including budget reports, departmental accomplishments, & fiscal reports. Promote recreation programs & activities among the public via speeches, news releases, PSA. Complete Federal-funding contracts & ensure full compliance, via training, review and monthly audited reports. Coordinate resources with other City Dept, Police/Fire, Street, Buildings and Grounds
