Daily Duties at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory:
I was responsible with designing an electrospinning setup for their laboratory. I created electrospun nanofibers through cellulose based polymer composites. I worked alone and had to find all of the equipment that needed to be ordered to design the setup. On some occasions, I would collaborate with a another employee on finding equipment that was already available around the site. I read all the journal articles that dealt with creating cellulose based polymers. I created the polymer solution and ran the test to show that the electrospinning design had worked.
What they like about Pacific Northwest National Laboratory:
The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
