Daily Duties at Jones Blechman Woltz & Kelly:

Managed operational aspects of law firm to include billing, trust accounting, employee recruiting and selection, facilities management, information technology. Regional law firm of 17 partners and 26 total attorneys - 75 support staff. Originally hired as accountant and promoted to Administrator upon the retirement of the previous administrator, Was told by the managing partner that I might as well be the administrator since he knew I was doing all the work anyway. Acted as system administrator for Barrister software system for time and billing, trust accounting and general ledger. Hired as accountant on the heels of a major imbezzlement to intoduce internal controls and systems. Managed employee benefit programs - implemented cafeteria plan and maintained the records and reporting - operated a 401K plan with self directed accounts that was also reported in house. prepared reports including budgets, cash projections. Determined year end position and necessary distributions to be made. Prepared annual corporate tax returns. As administrator, scheduled partner meetings and retreats, presented reports on financial status of the firm and reports on volume generated by each attorney in source and work. Responsible for risk management.
