Daily Duties at Town Of Chapel Hill:
Coordinated the operational aspects of the finance department to include payroll, billing, accounts receivable, cash. Assisted with reporting side of the department for budget and financial statements. Administered the finance dept budget. Prepared the statiscal section of the CAFR. Was short staffed most of the time in Chapel Hill so I generated payroll for 800+ employees including processing of withholdings, garnishments, etc. Pay frequencies were weekly, bi-weekly or monthly depending on employee type and tenure. Worked closely with Human Resources to process mass salary changes or to implement other payroll related changes. Acted as systems analyst for Munis financial system - handled all system security, upgrades, monthly and year end closes. Supervised the front office which had to be manned during open hours to handle receipt of all payments for the City to include permits fees, business licenses, acceptance of tax payments for the County. Was responsible for oversight of the parking authority to include the processing of significant volumes of cash (mostly coin) and maintenance of secure process for credit card transactions. Handled citizen concerns/complaints about the parking authority. Supervised a staff of six accountants.
