Daily Duties at Abbott:
• Networked with the professors in Utah University and University of Washington to establish new research programs using cell seeding in cardiovascular stem. • Selected drug candidates for extensive deliveries for local implant through patent researches and initial project feasibility studies. • Interacted with cardiovascular surgeons, pharmacists, process engineers and marketing professionals to carry out project feasibility studies. • Collaborated with Professor Robert Langer in MIT in local drug delivery using polyanhydrides. • Developed HPLC methods to monitor drug release profiles in pig serum and human serum, and developed analytical method for in-vivo animal sample testing. • Developed analytical protocols to analyze the remnant of the biopolymer implants and chemical process related impurities and drug degradants using LC/MS and Maldi-MS. • Synthesized and characterized biodegradable polymers and novel monomers for local implant and drug delivery systems.
