Daily Duties at Enroute Computer Solutions:
I was hired as a contractor to provide technical expertise for En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM) technology, the heart of the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) and a key component of the National Airspace System (NAS System) for the Miami ARTCC. Since February 1, 2009, I have been the assistant lead for the four contractors that also support the project. Duties include providing the Program Office Manager analytical trouble reports, coordinate resolution to operational and automation discrepancies. Work with and train the Technical Operations staff on over 40 IBM AIX servers and over 100 IBM LINUX workstations on how to analyze and repair hardware/software issues. Set up training programs for Lab managers for the Test and Training Lab. Coordinate with FAA managers scheduling for new releases, legacy support which involves management of processors, training and testing. Correct program errors, prepare scripts using UNIX, compile documentation of program development, and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls. Modifies and tunes Oracle databases to guarantee maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Apply the appropriate FAA standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Ensure software and security standards are met.
