Daily Duties at Westinghouse Electrical, Llc:
Provide support to Health Physics and Environmental Operations during nuclear fuel facility decontamination and decommissioning operations. Responsibilities include: Management of site health physics/environmental compliance surveillance & maintenance program; performance of routine site surveillances including sampling of various environmental media (air, surface water, groundwater, soil and vegetation), exhaust stack velocity measurements, air flow testing, chain of custody preparation and shipment of samples to laboratories for analysis, inspection of radiological posting & labeling, and testing of emergency alarm systems; oversight of contractor health physics operations ensuring compliance with applicable plans and procedures; monitoring access control point and responding to personnel contaminations; performance of radiological surveys including characterization, license surveillance and maintenance, waste operations support, and unrestricted release; performance of radiological job coverage; operation of various health physics instrumentation including portable survey meters, bench (smear) counting equipment, and Tennelec proportional counters.
