Daily Duties at Thomas Industries:

 Provided management and the Audit Committee with an independent appraisal of the adequacy and effectiveness of financial and operational policies, procedures, and internal controls, and the extent of compliance therewith.  Scheduled and directed the completion of financial audits, operational audits, internal control audits, and other audit projects and assisted the external auditors in completing the annual financial audit.  Assisted with drafting and reviewing financial statements, footnotes and MD&A for the 10-K.  Hired, evaluated and managed a department of four staff internal auditors and assisted in their development.

You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
