Daily Duties at The Genlyte Group:

 Leader of entire internal audit function, with heavy emphasis on SOX compliance, financial audits, IT audits, and review of SEC filings 10-K, 10-Q and 8-K for a company with over 20 divisions in the U.S. and Canada.  Developed the SOX compliance program from scratch, including SOX 404 and 302 compliance: Performed all SOX strategy and scoping, including identifying significant divisions and accounts, mapping accounts to business processes, identifying key controls, risk assessment, and testing plans, and coordinated same with external auditors.  Supervised audit teams performing all SOX testing and identified control deficiencies and recommendations for remediation, which were reported to division and senior management, the Audit Committee, and the external auditors, then followed up on all recommendations to ensure remediation.  Monitored status and results of quarterly self-assessment testing by division management for 302 compliance.  Advised management on internal control issues and solutions and shared best practices across the company.  Presented results of all audit activities vs. plan at quarterly Audit Committee meetings.  Hired, evaluated, trained, developed, and supervised the activities of four internal audit staff and utilized over 50 "temporary auditors" from throughout the Company's finance function to assist with audits and SOX testing.
