 Prepared or updated annual audit plan and SOX testing plan, departmental budget and departmental balanced scorecard, and coordinated internal and external resources to execute audit plans on time and within budget.  Directed the execution of management's assessment of internal controls for SOX 404 and 302 compliance.  Directed the completion of detailed 10-K and 10-Q reviews and tie out to supporting documentation, financial reviews, internal control audits, IT audits, internal quality assessment review, and special projects.  Performed all SOX strategy and scoping, including identifying significant accounts, mapping accounts to business processes, verifying key controls, and adjusting testing plans, and coordinated same with external auditors.  Supervised auditors performing all SOX testing and identified deficiencies in control design and operation.  Reported results of SOX testing and all other audits and projects, including recommendations, to management, the Audit Committee, and the external auditors and followed up on all recommendations to ensure remediation.  Evaluated all SOX deficiencies at year-end to determine if any were a material weakness or significant deficiency.  Presented results of audit activities vs. plan at Audit Committee meetings.  Hired, evaluated, trained, coached, and supervised the activities of five internal audit staff.  Provided direct assistance to external auditors resulting in savings of hundreds of their audit hours each year.
