Daily Duties at Do Dea:

Served as a Secretary for 137 employees; supervised 5 office personnel and 26 substitute teachers - Worked closely with administration to create reports and meet suspense requirements - Provided calendar maintenance and appointment schedule; recording appointments on a Shared Calendar - Obtained and managed all supplies and services in the main office - Maintained all timekeeping duties for 137 employees to include tracking leave - In-processed new employees - Hired and trained substitute teachers - Initiated Requests for Personnel Actions (RPAs) to include appointments, resignations, retirements, reassignments, conversions, corrections, leave without pay (LWOP), and not to exceed (NTE) extensions - Worked closely with HR to assure correctness of information entered into Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS) - Reviewed Notification of Personnel Actions to assure documents contained no errors. - Assisted employees with the Federal Employees Group Life Insurance (FEGLI), and Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) programs; interfacing with local civilian payroll support personnel; and assist employees in use of automated HR systems/programs such as Employees Benefit Information System (EBIS), Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS), Executive Personnel Database (EPD), DoDEA's Travel Order Processing System (TOPS), DoDEA's Allowance System (DAPS), Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) website/calculators - Provided guidance, advise, and assistance to employees on a full range of services to include personnel policies, administrative regulations, Standards, and employee rights and benefits - Prepared supervisor and cash awards for all employees - Worked with Labor and Relations to research employee's eligibility for Leave Without Pay (LWOP), Voluntary Leave Transfer Program (VLTP), Advance Leave, and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) requests; ensured proper documents were sent through the correct chain of command - Sorted and distributed incoming/outgoing mail; lifted up to 70 pounds - Prepared a wide variety of correspondence to include memos, letters, reports, graphs, spreadsheets, and forms, worked with several data bases. - Worked daily with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer, Publisher, Microsoft Power point, Windows XP -Type 40 wpm - Used digital sender, fax, copier, multi-line phone system, intercom system on a daily basis - Answered, assisted, and routed the main telephone on a daily basis - Maintained a high standard of customer service and confidentiality
