Daily Duties at State Of Illinois:
• Represented the State in approximately 200 administrative actions, managing all aspects of litigation, including evaluation of legal sufficiency, trial strategy, motions, discovery, legal research and brief writing, witness preparation, and courtroom appearances; Recommended parameters and guidelines for case settlement; Negotiated and drafted settlements and corporate integrity agreements; Trained new attorneys in case review and management • Modified procedures for issuing hearing notices, leading to more efficient, timely case resolution, a 70 percent increase in the number of cases resolved, and a 250 percent increase in the amount of overpayments recovered • Conducted legislative research and recommended necessary changes to increase program integrity; Drafted new administrative rules to effectuate statutory amendments
