Managed staff of 7 accountants, two senior and five staff accountants - Responsibilities included management and oversight of resort management accounting functions for 24 associations and 19 corporate business units including US and Caribbean entities. Responsibilities, Accomplishments and Process Improvements: - Reviewed Income Statements, variances to budget and forecast that included Maintenance Fee Revenues along with departmental expenses for the Recreation, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Administration and Security Departments and presented monthly results to HOA Boards and Property Management - Established processes and procedures that reduced the Corporate Consolidated close from 5 days to 2 days - Maintained stable work environment and limited turnover in high pressure environment • Ensured taxes, reserves and audits were handled in accordance with the appropriate State statues Senior Accountant (Promoted to Accounting Manager) Responsibilities included efficiently preparing financial statements for Management and Owner Associations in the Eastern Region of the USA, including: - General Ledger and Financial Statement analysis • Budget and forecast reviews with Management - Maintained Tax Escrow and Reserve Bank accounts • Prepared monthly journal entries for posting in the PeopleSoft accounting system - Reconciled balance sheet accounts and prepared aging reports Career Note: Additional professional history includes 18 years at Ford Motor Company as a Senior Internal Auditor (10 Years), Financial Analyst (5 Years), and Cost Accountant (3 Years).
