Managed accounting department with staff up to 5 accountants and oversaw accounting functions for 30 schools including schools in Florida, Georgia, Indiana and Louisiana. Responsibilities included the review and approval of all accounting transactions. Responsibilities, Accomplishments and Process Improvements: - Prepared and submitted monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for various Districts and States, based on reporting requirements - Managed growth of department from 15 to 48 schools, added 18 schools to MS Dynamics, FRX and ADP GL in 2012 - Presented financials at monthly board meetings - Liaison between auditors, outside MS Dynamics SL service providers and ADP GL service provider - Added all schools to QuickBooks online to eliminate manual submissions - Hands on Accounting Manager participating in Monthly/Quarterly/Year-End Close: Journal Entries included: Bond Reporting, Capital Lease Activity, Accrued Expenses, State and Local Revenue, Grant Revenue and Expenditures, Inter-Company Transactions, Banking Activity, QuickBooks Activity, Fixed Assets, Payroll and Prepaid Insurance – Completed all balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis
