Daily Duties at Lake Zurich Family Treatment Center:
For the first five years I asessed and treated minor wound/acute injuries, counseled and educated patients regarding various diseases, specialized in moderately complicated diabetic cases and poorly controlled asthma. Diagnosed and treated a multitude of conditions ranging from medical, behavioral to mental health and working with patients from pediatric to geriatric ages. Assisted patients with low income to obtain medications through various programs. For the second five years, responsibilities grew to oversee entire clinic when supervising physician would need to leave office for weeks throughout the year. I was in charge of 5 nurses, 3 MA's, front desk staff and fielded emergency calls. Plus see walk in patients and care for acute illness and provide emergent acute care for heart attacks, strokes, severe allergic reactions, severe hypertension and diabetes. This would often result in after hours care, on call situations and seeing patients in the hospital for follow up care. Between myself and my supervising doctor we saw an average of approx 6,000 patients/year.
