Daily Duties at Americas High School:
•English Teacher, to include advance placement, for Seniors, Juniors, and Freshman. Planned and implemented curricula, instructional methods, techniques and lesson plans to engage diverse students in learning. Developed special and individualized motivational strategies to reach students with varied learning styles. Effectively managed classrooms with as many as 38 students. Developed web page for all my English classes. Developed long and short-term lesson plans. Provided technical advice and guidance and mentored students. Selected three years in a row to mentor student teachers. •Selected as Liberal Arts Block Leader. Supervised the activities and coordination of 12 educators. Worked with Liberal Arts Block teachers to develop project based learning objectives. Started career day to expose students to possible future endeavors •Selected for grant to obtain a MA Degree in education with an emphasis on computer technology •Honor Society Sponsor, chartered school’s first Honor Society Chapter •Inducted into Who’s Who of American Teachers
