- Process claims for medical and property indemnity expenses in accordance with state and company guidelines for payments and timeliness, on a national level. - Identify coverage issues and notify carrier for position on coverage. - Analyze contracts and tenders for defense and indemnification. - Obtain recorded statements from insureds, claimants, witnesses, etc.; arrange property damage inspections; review police reports; and analyze findings. - Customer contact: daily contact with customers; initiate contact and maintain relationships with attorneys to negotiate bodily injury settlements; and contact with internal customers. - Negotiate liability with other insurance companies to move files toward closure. - Negotiate bodily injury claims with third parties or their attorneys. - Proactively and consistently maintain a manageable inventory level given the increasingly larger claims caseload. - Attend mediations, mandatory settlement conferences, etc. for claim resolution.
