Daily Duties at The Andersons:

My previous 2 years at the Andersons included building a team that successfully started three railcar repair shops from the ground up as Railcar Repair Manager. This included moving my family from Ohio to California. We achieved first-year profits of $200,000+ whereas companywide target was -$65,000, and completed business start-up at under $1.5 million whereas companywide objective was $2.5 million or lower which ultimately helped to save core costs. This was a very rewarding opportunity that allowed me to experience the start up of a business in the state of California. During this time we successfully passed all FRA inspections at three sites with in one year.

Working in an organization that is technologically advanced, creative, and innovative is critical in your assessment of hiring companies. Less important to you are stability of the organization, the length of time an organization has been in business, and the business' plans for the future. You prefer a fast-moving company that will take risks to achieve its goals and objectives. The length of time the company has been in business is irrelevant. Maintaining status quo is unnecessary. You thrive on change, uncertainty and the upside of potential business risks, especially those associated with innovation. Stability for the long haul is not nearly as important as is working in an atmosphere that is charged with a sense of urgency and constant change.
