Daily Duties at Cambium Learning Group (Formerly Sopris West Education Services):

Negotiate hotel, venue, and vendor contracts for all Cambium conferences, institutes, and events with more than 25 room nights. Negotiate cost effective contracts for all conferences to minimize Cambium's financial risk. Review and approve all Cambium conference contracts to be signed by the Vice President. Direct planning and execution of 30 summer institutes, conferences, seminars and trainings annually. Plan conference agendas with district, state, and federal level conference sponsors. Secure agreements with presenters. Oversee development of promotional brochures, emails and invitations. Edit final proof. Review, code, and approve all conference expenses. Track expenses and manage $5M conference department budget. Direct on-site registration process and staff. Oversee registration and attendee management processes. Implement strategic marketing plan and branding through development and deployment of targeted promotional campaigns to drive conference attendance. Provide leadership and supervision of eight conference planners and registrars. Communicate strategic direction and goals to staff. Coach, mentor and empower staff. Review and improve conference planning process to increase efficiency. Assist in problem solving customer issues. Plan and coordinate Cambium national exhibits and trade-shows. Oversee technology implementations relevant to the Conference Department. Oversee online attendee/registration management system.
