Daily Duties at Serco:

Returned to work for Serco to help with proposals and to help manage Air Traffic Control systems installation projects to include shelter and tower assembly for SPAWAR Systems in Charleston, SC. I manage several types of shelter and tower installations and shelter assemblies to include Transportable Radar Approach Control, (TRAPCON), Battle Command Control Center (BC3) and the Transportable Air Traffic Control Facility (TATCF). Each shelter was assembled, tested and commissioned into service at SPAWAR Systems Charleston. Installation and integration efforts included installing cable management systems, flooring, electrical panels, radios, antennas all cabling and equipment consoles. The shelters are disassembled and packed up for shipment to different areas in Afghanistan and other surrounding areas for re-assembly to support war efforts. For each project, I manage the schedule and personnel involved, order and track materials and equipment, submit weekly and monthly status reports that include the financials and work performed.

What they like about Serco:

The social vibrance of a hiring firm is very important to you. Your ability to make and maintain friendships there is a critical part of your decision. You would likely be dissatisfied with a workplace that is quiet, cold, or otherwise not particularly social. When you investigate a new hiring company, ask recruiters, managers, and potential co-workers about the social life and opportunities there. This is especially important when you are relocating; moving dramatically alters your social sphere both inside and outside the workplace.
