Daily Duties at Signal Corp/General Dynamics :
As the Project Lead/Manager for the Navy Marine Corp Internet (NMCI) projects in Charleston, I oversaw all aspects of the installation of data network systems, coordinating personnel and travel to sites and reporting to the customer when needed. I prioritized project tasks, I attended weekly meetings to discuss all aspects of the work, report any problems, and offer corrective solutions. I managed the schedule and personnel involved, ordered and tracked materials and equipment, submitted weekly and monthly status reports that included the financial reports. In addition I negotiated contracts and submitted new contracts for future work. With Signal Corporation I served as an installation task leader/technician on IT installation projects for SSCC. I assisted with the design and cable layout at SSCC for both inside and outside cable plants for the installation, splicing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting of fiber and copper backbones and riser cables. In addition, I developed daily and weekly project status reports and provided training for and inspections of the work performed. I also performed corrective and preventive maintenance for the base-wide Telephone and LAN projects for SSCC and responded to trouble calls, emergency outages, moves, additions, and changes through the customer support help desk. I also ordered/purchased materials to meet the specifications for each task, assigned and trained personnel on proper installation and safety procedures.
