Daily Duties at Mc Afee:

Research Scientist – SCAP, Risk and Compliance 2012-Present • Designed and developed OVAL patch checks and completed extensive training on SCAP. • Worked with three major industry standard security policies: PCI-DSS, CIS, and DISA STIGs. • Developed security compliance checks and benchmarks according to industry standards, enabling automatic modification of group policies without user intervention. • Performed localization of benchmarks, ensuring code would function effectively on international basis. Team Lead – Remediation Management, Risk and Compliance 2010-2011 • Led group of three developers in designing automation tools and keeping enterprise-level products up-to-date on numerous emerging vulnerabilities and threat trends; developed solutions and corrective patches. • Provided content coverage and threat tracking for both Windows and UNIX platforms. • Managed security changes required following Microsoft’s monthly release of patches. Achieved 100% results in critical release cycles under highly stressful 24-hour deadlines dictated by service level agreements. • Handled extensive training of new personnel, which included writing patch content using VBScript, working with SQL database, and learning how to contribute equally as independent team member. • Earned promotion to team lead because of dependability and performance, despite short tenure. Performed many functions typical for management level since actual manager was remote and encouraged local ownership. Research Scientist – Remediation Management, Risk and Compliance 2009-2010 • Investigated known and new OS and application vulnerabilities and developed remediation solutions in C, JavaScript, and VBScript. • Coded solutions and developed automation tool.
