Daily Duties at Mizuho Securities:

Initially I was hired by Mizuho on the back of a business proposal my UK based partner and I proposed to Mizuho. The plan leveraged our knowledge of the Emerging Markets Fixed Income Markets and focussed on intermediating the purchase and sale of distressed debt portfolios held by US and European Fund Managers post the 1998 financial crash. We were able to intermediate the purchase and sale of over 3 billion dollars of nominal Government and corporate debt earning commissions in excess of 15 million dollars over a 3 year period. after the events of 9/11 the group moved to new offices and I was appointed as Head of Emerging Markets Fixed Income USA. In this role I hired 3 sales traders and working with the London based EM team we were able to continue working in the distressed debt markets generating a further 5 million dollars in commissions over 18 months.

Note that firms "in the public eye" receive a great deal more critical publicity and attention than those operating with more anonymity.
