Daily Duties at Electronic Data Systems (Eds):

Served as Lead Configuration Management Administrator, applying Configuration Management (CM) concepts when defining and applying CM processes to a variety of projects and/or system’s assets. Applied knowledge of industry standards as they related to CM defining the CM processes for the organization or project. • Applied knowledge of industry standards as they related to CM, defining CM processes for an organization or project. Industry standards include: International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Electronic Industries Association (EIA), Software Engineering Institute (SEI) and the Institute of Electrical Electronic Engineers (IEEE). • Implemented a software configuration management control process to protect the project’s/system’s assets from unauthorized changes and keeps the related components synchronized such as requirements, design, test cases and deliverables. • Developed and implemented a protection scheme to ensure correct assets were available for approved access but secure from tampering. Components of the protection scheme included the determination of assets, assessing degree of protection, backup and recovery and logging. • Integrated CM repository tools, security facilities and other development tools to form standard development and testing environments. • Identified, tracked and logged project/system components and their changes to maintain a record of the status of changes to the project/system. • Applied knowledge of how components were being used across applications to control the evolution of components in such a way as to address the ramifications of changes in components. • Used products to implement component libraries that enable version management. Examples of such products are the MERANT products suites PVCS Version Manager and Tracker. • A mentor in the Configuration Management Development (CMD) Program. This is an eighteen month program that transitions people from other disciplines or recent graduates into CM.
