Daily Duties at Hormel Institute, University Of Minnesota:
Performing research and the discovery of Mitochondria Uniporter functions with regards to respiratory system. Had one techician. Write papers and design my project. Order the required equipments and make proposal to the research group. Promote a diverse, culturally competent, and respectful workplace. Direct and administer the development of the department budget to ensure compliance with guidelines established by the County Board. Direct the allocation of fiscal, physical and human resources to carry out efficiently the functions and priorities of the division. Meet with elected officials, state and federal representatives, community groups and research professionals to explain department policy, resolve problems and develop more efficient and effective modes of service delivery. Participate in the overall management of the department. Direct data privacy functions for the Department. Design and manage research and evaluation programs used by the Community Human Services Department to assist directors and managers to evaluate and modify delivery of services to clients. Direct the ongoing creation of a multifaceted, management information system by approving plans for automation, integrating separate systems, and developing computerized work flows to increase productivity and improve the quality of the information collected. Direct the preparation of analyses that assess overall department performance, measure internal and external conditions which affect the department's objectives, and recommend long range goals to improve service delivery. Direct the Contract Management unit in order to obtain cost-effective, quality services for the Department through contracts with community providers. Oversee the delivery of support services including: reception desk (in person and telephone), mailroom/messengers, word processing, driver/vehicles, photo ID, purchasing & printshop. Manage the security and safety functions of Ramsey County Government Center-East including the Deputy Sheriffs assigned to the building. Direct the planning and technical support for space planning and staff moves for the department, including telephone and computer changes, physical moves, and the ordering and installation of new office furniture. Oversee the Department's Staff Development and Volunteer Services staff.
