Assisted callers in alleviating crisis that threatens the integrity of the caller via crisis counseling, accessing licensed mental health professionals and community emergency respondents such as police and psychiatric emergency teams. Supervised women and children within the shelter in order to provide a safe environment. Allocated appropriate medications as prescribed to sheltered residents. Educated callers on the cycle of domestic violence. Provided limited legal advice, as appropriate, and directed clients to appropriate attorney services for in-depth legal counseling.
