Daily Duties at Los Angeles County, Department Of Mental Health :
Extensive experience with assessment of severely mentally ill individuals, families and significant others via in-depth interviews to obtain family, social, medical, substance use and mental health treatment. Provided individual and family psychotherapy utilizing evidenced based practices. Assisted children, adolescents and families to identify treatment goals and to actively participate in the psychotherapy treatment recommendations to achieve optimum mental health and social functioning. Provided psychiatric crisis services via interviewing the severely mental ill who demonstrate behaviors and ideas not limited to danger to self, others or gravely disabled. LPS designated social worker. Extensive experience collaborating with the Department of Children's Services as it pertains to the well being of children's mental health. Facilitated parenting class/support groups, ADHD parenting groups, social skills groups. Coordinated services via a collaborative of community mental health providers including social workers, psychologists, case managers, mental health clinical supervisors, marriage and family therapists among other disciplines. Performed as preceptor for MSW interns.
